Life and Time
April. 22, 2004
As a living thing in this piece of land, we all cherish lives in one way or the other. Benjamin Franklin said if you care about lives, you should care about time for this is what lives make out of.
I am not going talk about time management. I like to look at time and our lives from a different prospective. Mentally and Physically.
Mentally
With the limited time we have on earth, we all want to be successful because this is an indicator that we don't waste any of our time to ourselves. For the past 10 years, I have seen infomercial or books talking about self improvement and live a successful life. Ten years gone by, the impact to me or to my friends is not that much. For most of the down to earth people, self-improvement is a tough work. However, if you realize that everyone is different and each of us is special, then it is not difficult see that we don't really need to "change" ourselves to be successful; all we need is to do the things that we like. We may not be good at it in the beginnng, but since we truly like it, we learn and practice with it at the same time we enjoy it. Perfection comes in time and the time will be well spent... for you like what we do. If you wanted to be a ballerina, and you think you are too old for that, the chances are, you are right. However, still go and learn it. To see if you really like it. One hour per week because you busy. Still go and do it. Life is journey waited to be walked through. If you enjoy that 1 hr/per week lesson, at least you are happy one hour a week. Worth to live through it. Am I right?
Physically
We want to prolong our lives. Spend more time with the stuffs and the ones you love. Two important things that doctors have been telling us about is doing exercises and eat more veggies. The fiber can clean our systems; bad things flushed away. Exercise can keep you muscle groups strong and also stimulate the hormones and the immune system. You already know they are important, I don't need to spend more time with it. Another thing is glucose, it gives us energy but at the same time, it is killing us. I learnt it from The Health Channel that the blood sugar will combine with a protein in our cells to form a bond, this new-formed protein is not easy to break and slowly it will block our blood stream. This is part of the aging process. Scientist are testing drugs to treat this problem. However, the low-tech way to break this bonding is to take Vitamin C and E. As to how much we should take, you should ask your doctor; but Vitimin C and E with good veggies diet and appropriate exercise will prolong your healthy life. One more thing I want to put on the table, is an ancient wisdom, that is never stuff you stomach full. Eighty percent full is very good, but never too full.
So mentally, you will do the things that you like and physically, you will exercise, eat veggie, take Vitimin C and E and don't stuff your stomach too full.
